Anglia Square: A Love Story
Anglia Square: A Love Story is a year-long funded multi-partner, participatory research, music and theatre project designed to respond to contemporary and historical changes to an iconic area of Norwich at a time of radical redevelopment.
2019 has seen many people getting involved in the different elements of the project. They include a citizen research group; a community choir; a songbook, a heritage publication, a largescale outdoor theatre show; story-telling events; a website; street performance and creative photography, screen printing and performance work in five city schools.
The outdoor show performed was across three city centre stages and in the streets in July 2019 with over 200 cast and choir and an enthusiastic audience of almost 4000.
In partnership with The Common Lot, Anglia Ruskin University, Norwich Arts Centre, Norwich City Council, BBC Voices, Ture Stories Live and many others
Supported by: National Lottery Heritage Fund, Arts Council England Norwich Freemen’s Charity, Chivers Trust, NAC and NCC

Our children will look back at 2019 and remember when we shared the history of Anglia Square: with our school; with our local community and the City of Norwich. I am so incredibly proud to have been part of this – As I know the rest of our team and school are too.
The Common Lot are consummate masters of local community theatre …this is an intoxicating and infectious show from a company that has once again raised its own already lofty bar to new heights.
Wow, wow and WOW! We laughed, we cried then we laughed and cried some more! Massive congratulations to The Common Lot we have never been prouder to live and work Over The Water.
